What's New in the 2025 CHJA Medal Finals?
Qualifying for the CHJA Pony Medal Final is becoming harder due to fewer entries in the qualifying classes. To continue to support these competitors, the CHJA Board has decided to allow combining the CHJA Pony Medal class with other CHJA Medal classes when, on the day of a show, there are fewer than the required three competitors in a CHJA Pony Medal qualifying class.
As a reminder, the CHJA Pony Medal qualifying classes and the CHJA Pony Medal Final require small and medium ponies to jump obstacles 2'0" in height and large ponies to jump obstacles 2'6" in height.
Therefore, effective immediately (March 25, 2025) if a CHJA Pony Medal qualifying class does not meet the CHJA requirement of a minimum of three entries on the day of a CHJA affiliated show, the show management may combine Medal classes as follows:
· Pony Medal competitors on small and medium ponies may be combined with the 2’ Pre-Children’s Medal qualifying classes.
· Pony Medal competitors on large ponies may be combined with the 2’6” Children’s Medal qualifying classes.
Riders competing in the combined class shall accumulate points in their appropriate Medal class.
If the prize list indicates in advance that
these classes will be combined, then they will not be pointed by the
CHJA.
